Before you begin
Have these ready before you register in the Developer Portal.
Organisation details
- Organisation name. Your company or operator name. IFMS shows it as your provider name.
- IFTMS Operator ID. Your operator identifier in the national IFTMS. You must enter it when you register. IFMS uses it to cross-reference your fleet.
- A contact email and phone number.
Your vehicles' plate numbers
IFMS identifies each vehicle by its plate number (vehicle_plate_number). IFMS changes each plate to uppercase and removes whitespace.
A secret store
After approval and subscription, the Developer Portal gives you a consumer key and a consumer secret. Your backend uses them to get access tokens.
- Keep the consumer secret in a protected secret manager or in protected environment variables.
- Never put it in source code, telemetry, screenshots, logs, email or support tickets.
Accurate device clocks
Each position carries the time your device recorded it (recorded_at). IFMS accepts a position only if that time is no more than 30 days old and no more than 5 minutes ahead of IFMS server time. Keep your device and server clocks accurate. A position outside this window is rejected.
What you do not need
You do not need IP allow-listing or a client certificate.
